Introduction: Spirit & Pride

Located southwest of Chicago, Midlothian is a suburb proud of its small-town atmosphere. Amidst steady, but careful economic growth and development, the people of this suburb have maintained a hometown feeling.

Midlothian is known as “the community that pride built,” and that pride and spirit is evident in its homes, schools, cultural programs, businesses, parks, healthcare facilities and village personnel.

Just east of Midlothian, the suburb of Posen shares much of what the area has to offer. Although Posen has its own government, fire, and police protection, both Midlothian and Posen residents enjoy the same excellent school system, healthcare providers, library, and shopping malls, as well as convenient location and transportation.

Midlothian has been recognized for its community-wide volunteer efforts and was honored with the Governor’s Hometown Award. There always is something in the works here, such as beautification projects, community fairs, or a charity golf outing at the renowned Midlothian Country Club. Numerous organizations are active in the area and provide both civic and social opportunities. The American Legion in Posen is one example of an outstanding organization.

St. Stanislaus Parish is a cornerstone in Posen’s neighborhoods, sponsoring various programs and events.

Nearly 15,000 people have chosen Midlothian as their home, while Posen, a geographically smaller suburb, has about 5,000 residents. It is not uncommon for people to grow up and remain in the area. It is a place where people are friendly and welcome both old and new faces with a smile.
