Location & Transportation

road

Located in the heartland of America, Moline is served by multiple modes of nearby transportation options. Major interstates–I-80, I-88 and I-74–provide ready access in all directions, making the region a preferred location for logistics and distribution facilities. The Quad City International Airport is located in Moline and is the third-largest airport in Illinois. Five major airlines offer nonstop flights to numerous cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Denver, Detroit, Memphis, Orlando and Minneapolis/St. Paul, with hundreds of domestic and international connections available beyond those cities. On-site fueling and ground handling services are available.

The Quad City Passenger Rail Coalition is currently working with the Illinois Department of Transportation and Amtrak to restore passenger rail service between Chicago and the Quad Cities. Amtrak rail offers convenient service to downtown Chicago via the Princeton, Illinois, Amtrak station. The Princeton Station is just south of I-80 with free parking available.

Getting around the Illinois Quad Cities is easy with MetroLINK mass transit, which provides 2.5 million trips annually. MetroLINK provides service to most learning institutions, shopping centers, medical facilities and local businesses including major Quad City employers. Service is also available to the Quad City International Airport, motels and many entertainment outlets.

The Channel Cat Water Taxi, a passenger ferryboat with bicycle racks and wheelchair accessibility, offers daily service from May to September to several Quad City locations along the Mississippi River.
