New Lenox Location and Transportation

New Lenox is located on Interstate 80 at exit 137. Interstate 80 connects to Interstate 55 approximately 10 miles west of New Lenox, as well as to Interstate 57 approximately 10 miles to the east of the Village.

U.S. Route 30 and U.S. Route 6 serve New Lenox to the east and west. U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) has recently designated a National Scenic Byway designation by the Federal Highway Administration.

The anticipated I-355 extension will open in November of 2007.

Major airline services are available at Midway International Airport (approximately 20 miles northeast of New Lenox) and O’Hare International Airport (approximately 45 miles north of New Lenox). Both major airports are located in Chicago.

Metra rail services provide residents with daily commuter service to Chicago LaSalle Street Station. A new Metra station opened in October of 2006, which takes riders to Chicago’s Union Station.

Railroads providing rail service to New Lenox include: Elgin Joliet & Eastern, Norfolk & Southern, CSXT and IAIS.
