The Village of Oak Brook is recognized for its equestrian and golfing facilities. Built around Oak Brook patriarch Paul Butler’s affinity for polo, fox hunting and golf, the area holds a well-earned reputation for some of the finest events in the world. Since its inception in 1922, polo, the ‘sport of kings,’ has attracted world-class teams to play on the immaculately groomed fields of the Oak Brook Polo Grounds. Now owned by the Village of Oak Brook, the Oak Brook Sports Core hosts polo matches every Sunday. This is a popular venue for horse lovers and for fundraisers, corporate and private events. The International Sports Core includes the Polo Grounds with their regular series of polo matches, and fine equestrian events.

Butler National Golf Course is a favorite venue for some of the world’s finest golfers. For many years, it was the home of the PGA Tour's Western Open, and is rated by Golf Digest as one of America's 50 greatest golf courses. Originally designed by golf course architect George and Tom Fazio, it has undergone redesigns by architect Dick Nugent to keep it competitive for today’s golfers.

Also unique to greater Oak Brook is the Village of Oak Brook Sports Core, a lush 269-acre sporting complex owned and operated by the Village of Oak Brook. This beautiful green space in the center of the Village includes the elegant glass and wood Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club and the Polo Grounds.

Bath and Tennis Club facilities offer fine dining, meeting and banquet rooms for private or corporate events as well as excellent tennis and aquatic facilities. The Oak Brook Polo Grounds and the Open Fields, also part of the complex, are available for private and corporate events, fundraisers and picnics. Polo matches are played every Sunday during the summer months. The Village of Oak Brook also owns and operates the Oak Brook Golf Club, DuPage County’s first golfing facility.
