Throughout its history, the Olympia Fields Country Club has hosted numerous national golf championship events, beginning with the 1925 PGA Open, and most recently, the club hosted the esteemed 2003 U.S. Open.

The legends of the game—Walter Hagen, Johnny Farrell, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Tom Weiskopf, Hale Irwin, Ray Floyd, Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh—have all played here. It was designed in 1922 by another golfing great, Willie Park, Jr. (winner of the 1887 and 1889 British Opens).

In addition, more than a half-dozen other public and private golf courses are located near the Village. Handicappers and duffers alike have a wide choice of courses to play throughout the golf season.
