In addition to multiple physicians, psychotherapists and dentists with practices in Olympia Fields, St. James Hospital and Medical Center-Olympia Fields Campus serves the healthcare and medical needs of local residents. The 164-bed, full-service healthcare complex was established in 1978 to offer primary medical and surgery services and provide expert care to nearly a half-million south suburban residents annually. St. James Hospital is the only medical school/teaching hospital in the south suburban area. The Patricia A. Joyce Comprehensive Cancer Institute was the first hospital in the Chicagoland and one of the first nationwide to use the Trilogy RapidArc™ technology that dramatically reduces cancer treatment times. Also, the Comprehensive Cancer Institute is the area’s only cancer center offering radiation and infusion therapies in one convenient location. In addition to medical and surgical inpatient units for rehabilitation, oncology and orthopedics, the medical center has outpatient facilities for over 30 different medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. St. James Hospital offers specialty care centers for wound, colorectal, bariatric, diabetes and rehabilitative medicine.
