Neighborhoods and Community

Elegant turn-of-the-century mansions overlook the Mississippi from atop soaring limestone bluffs. Cozy cottages line streets bordered by mature trees. Century-old homes in historic districts undergo rehabilitation and renovation by today’s generations to display their charm and grace as brightly as when they were new. Sunlit acres of new development sparkle with contemporary large and mid-size single-family homes. Handsome condominium and apartment complexes also are highlights of the area’s housing.

The Mexico Neighborhood has led the development with the construction of thirty single family homes that make up Hampton Place. The city has plans for other infill housing developments that along with the construction of new single family units also call for the rehabilitation of historic structures.

On Godfrey’s south side, numerous subdivisions of single-family homes are being developed. These neighborhoods are peaceful and quiet, with most streets ending in cul de sacs. In this area, as well, are elegant condominium and townhouse complexes like Normandy Place and Lexington Estates. Large single-family homes are found in new subdivisions like Seasons, Eagle Ridge, Eagle Pointe, and Summerfield.
