Government and Demographics

Rockton is home to almost 8,000 people, with approximately 2,000 households and 1,500 families in the village. Rockton is a predominantly Caucasian community with nearly 92 percent of the residents classified as White and 8 percent other. Nearly half the population has children under 18, and approximately 10 percent of the population is over 65. The average household and family size is between three and four. The highest percentage of residents, over 31 percent, are between 25 and 44. The median income is over $57k, with a median family income at almost $63k.

The village is managed by a Village President, a group of Village Trustees, and an office staff of personnel working in various departments. The Village President, Dale Adams, was recently elected to his 4th term. He is joined by a group of six trustees, elected to represent their community. The office is staffed by a Planning & Development Coordinator, a Parks & Recreation Director, Public Works Manager, Clerk, and other necessary staff.

Throughout the community you will find many of the village volunteers and staff working to make Rockton a great place to live, work and play. They volunteer their personal time on events, causes, and community improvement projects.
