Education

A resident can obtain the full range of education, from early childhood to a prestigious doctoral degree, without ever leaving Romeoville.

Romeoville’s youth attend four highly regarded school districts – Valley View Consolidated Unit District 365U, Plainfield School District 202, Lockport Township High School District 205 and Richland Grade School 88A. Five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school are located within the village boundaries. Additionally, two private schools are within the corporate limits: Bible Baptist Christian Academy and St. Andrew Catholic School.

Lewis University, founded in 1932, has grown from a small technical school into a mid-sized campus of about 6,600 students. The Lewis main campus is a picturesque 376-acre suburban setting that houses 1,000 students in 11 residence halls. Lewis offers over 60 undergraduate majors at its main campus, as well as 14 graduate programs, and degree completion programs for working adults.

The North Campus of Joliet Junior College, America’s oldest public community college, is located just off of Weber Road on 135th Street and has over 4,000 students. To support the growing needs of the campus, expansion began in 2015. JJC has an anticipated completion in 2016. The construction plan calls for additional space for academic programs and student development services to respond to this growth. The new expansion will include additional computer labs, new biology, and anatomy and physiology labs.

Rasmussen College, as a regionally accredited college, offers programs designed to help you graduate in as little as 9, 12 or 18 months so you can start or advance your career quicker. To meet the area’s needs, Rasmussen continues to offer a variety of career-focused programs. These programs include the School of Nursing program and the New Surgical Technologist program, as well as the Surgical Suite Lab, which opened in 2015.
