Message from the Chairman

Dear Members,

I am honored to be the 2016 Board Chairman of the Schaumburg Business Association. The organization is coming off an incredibly successful year in membership and financial growth which is attributed to the leadership of Past-Chairman Ben Olson and SBA President Kaili Harding.

As an employee of a national corporation and a retail small business owner, I understand the different needs of small and large businesses. Some members join to network while others want a legislative voice, business support, educational opportunities or to be a good corporate citizen. The SBA provides a variety of outlets to help members grow business and support economic development in the area.

Since joining the Schaumburg Business Association, my membership has gained me access to thought leaders who have mentored me and have taught me valuable business lessons. Not only have my professional contacts increased, but I also have gained lifelong friendships in the process. This year my goal is to make sure members of all sizes have a voice and access to business resources to succeed.

Here are a few ways in which we will grow and refine the association in 2016:

• Expand the legislative voice of the Schaumburg Business Association

• It is important for an association of our size along with our individual members to stay connected to local, state and federal elected officials. The SBA provides members with the opportunity to network and share triumphs and business concerns with government officials through informative legislative affairs seminars and new networking opportunities.

• Provide first-class events and programs

• The organization already hosts over 100 events a year, from ribbon cuttings to signature events to educational seminars. The goal this year is to see how we can evolve these events to include superior speakers, innovative topics and higher level networking.

• Be a premier business resource

How can WE help solve your biggest business problem? Maybe you need help connecting to a business associate, advertising job openings or getting your employees more involved in the community. The Schaumburg Business Association has a wealth of resources. I encourage you to reach out to SBA staff who can help assist in attaining your goals.

In order to attain the above goals in 2016, we need your help. To see the greatest benefits from your membership, you must be engaged in the organization. Being engaged can mean a variety of things from attending an event, volunteering on a committee or sponsoring an event. I promise that if you invest time into this organization you will see the benefits as I have.

By working together to achieve the goals above, I am confident our momentum from the previous year will continue onto 2016 with increased membership and revenues. I personally want to thank you for your membership and I am excited to work with you this year.

Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2016,
