Location and Transportation

The dynamic Village of Shorewood is part of the expanding southwest suburbs, approximately 40 miles from downtown Chicago. It is located in Troy Township and is part of Will County, which stands as one of the fastest-growing counties in Illinois and the U.S.

The community sits at two major intersections; IL Route 59 and U.S. Route 52 meet in the heart of the Village, while Interstate 55/Historic U.S. 66 and Interstate 80 converge on its south side. Public commuter transit is readily available through Pace suburban bus service in Shorewood and Metra rail from nearby New Lenox and Joliet. In addition, Joliet Union Station is served by long-distance passenger rail operator Amtrak.
