Shopping and Dining

Route 59 and U.S. Route 52 are the community’s two main commercial corridors, housing a selection of retailers, restaurants and service businesses. There are several shopping centers located along the Route 59 corridor, which feature a mix of nationally known retailers, such as Jewel/Osco, Mariano’s, Home Goods, Staples, Target and The Home Depot, complemented by a mix of franchise stores and local, family-owned businesses.

Shorewood Towne Center, located on the southwest side of town along U.S. Route 52, is an ambitious Village undertaking that brings together residential, commercial and municipal elements. The more than $10 million Village Hall opened at the master-planned, mixed-used development in 2007, which is also home to the Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce. New residential areas will connect to a modern shopping, dining and cultural site by parks and paths, creating a convenient, pedestrian-oriented community.

Joining the retail development is an array of new and established restaurants, catering to diners of all kinds. Casual eateries, fast-food diners, bar/grills and other dining establishments line the main streets of the Shorewood area, offering an eclectic assortment of menus. Prime steaks, global cuisine, pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, burgers, deli subs and salads are just some of the delicious food options available in the Village.
