The national award-winning Skokie Public Library serves as a community center for Skokie, offering performances, classes, workshops, discussions, art exhibits, and meeting spaces for all ages in its 133,000-square-foot facility that is conveniently located and open 75 hours a week.

In addition to an extensive collection of books, periodicals, music, and movies, digital materials are available free to everyone in the community. The bookmobile provides services throughout the community five days a week. Many online resources, including the library catalog, are available 24/7. Special digitized collections include an award-winning extensive history of Skokie developed by the Skokie Historical Society and more.

The library makes available more than 60 computers with Internet access, as well as laptops that can be used anywhere in the building, and free WiFi for mobile devices and individual laptops. Individual consultation at every level of sophistication is available, from computer basics to the latest technologies in the Digital Media Lab, along with hands-on technology classes of every description.
