Sugar Grove is located primarily in Kaneland School District #302. The mission of the district is to guide and challenge students to acquire the knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to contribute to, and successfully participate in, a diverse democratic society. (www.kaneland.org)

John Shields Elementary School is located in the heart of town serving kindergarten through fifth grade. Sugar Grove families might also attend the Kaneland McDole Elementary School in Montgomery. A new middle school, scheduled to open fall 2009, is also located in Sugar Grove. Kaneland High School, in nearby Maple Park, is also the home of the Fox Valley Career Center, a career development and technical training center for high school students from all over Kane County.

Several private and parochial schools are also available in the Sugar Grove area.

Waubonsee Community College

The highly accessible Waubonsee Community College, located just north of downtown Sugar Grove, emphasizes innovation, quality, service and value. WCC provides two-year programs designed to transfer to a four-year college as well as two-year degree programs and one-semester certificate programs. In addition, WCC offers courses for those interested in building specific skills for the workplace or one’s own personal interests.
