Sugar Grove Community Events

The closeness of the Sugar Grove community is fostered through many events and festivals. The Farmers Market is held at the Municipal Building parking lot every Saturday, June through September, from 8 a.m. to Noon. The market offers a variety of local produce, crafts, independent consultants, local businesses, clubs and organizations.

Holiday in the Grove is an annual celebration held the first Saturday in December. It is hosted by John Shields Elementary School and co-sponsored by the Park District and other service organizations.

The Sugar Grove Corn Boil

( takes place the last full weekend in July with festivities that carry on well into the night with crafters, business booths, a carnival, entertainment, fireworks and the primary attraction: delicious cooked corn.


In addition, concerts, blood drives, charity events and other activities are planned throughout the year. These community events are volunteer-powered. Opportunities are available in our community to fit any schedule or interest! The Village and Chamber sponsor the annual Sugar Grove Citizen of the Year Award to recognize individuals or groups which best exemplifies that pioneering spirit which helps our village grow and prosper. The Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce & Industry,, provides a calendar of community events.
