The Washington Park District provides recreational opportunities to Washington residents. The park district operates with approximately five full-time and upwards of 90 part-time employees, as well as a board of commissioners and committees. The park district offers two community parks, eight neighborhood parks and specialized facilities such as a fitness center, a pool and a recreation trail. One of the community parks, Washington Park, is home to the veteran’s memorial, a disc golf course, the Washington Recreational Trail, tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, sand volleyball courts and a playground area. To learn more about the other parks as well as the programs offered by the park district, visit the website at www.washingtonparkdistrict.com.

Five Points-Washington, which opened in October 2007, houses an aquatic center, a fitness center, a performing arts center & theater, a banquet center and the expanded library. The five entities which brought this facility to reality are the Washington Area Community Center Foundation, the City of Washington, Washington Community High School, the Washington District Library and the Washington Park District.
