Culture and Entertainment

West Chicago offers something for everyone throughout the year. For more than 35 years, residents of the city have enjoyed the much-anticipated annual Railroad Days festival.

This signature event is held each July at Reed-Keppler Park and includes live entertainment featuring a mix of local talent and national acts, area food vendors, carnival rides and games, and an assortment of family-friendly activities.

The mud volleyball tournament has proven to be an exciting event at Railroad Days, as has Art in the Park, an exhibition that showcases the work of local artists.

Nearby Wheaton is host to the DuPage County Fair, a well-attended celebration that is held near the end of summer.

Shortly following this countywide fair is the Mexican Independence Day celebration in September. This event, which celebrates the vibrant Hispanic heritage, is the largest in Illinois.

Those who enjoy the nightlife will be pleased with establishments such as Boogie Nights, located on Roosevelt Road, and a host of new and long-time established bar and grills. A bowling alley and drive-in movie theater are perfect for the family outing, while local museums, including the Kruse House Museums, the West Chicago City Museum and Kline Creek Farm, provide culturally and educationally rich options for everyone.
