contentsWest Suburban IL Chamberads

The Western Suburbs’ proximity to the major market of Chicago is just one of the many benefits to doing business here. The area provides a great transportation system, through both the highway system and public transportation, a large workforce population, available land, and a Chamber and Village governments that are supportive of both new and existing businesses.

A wide mix of over 4,000 businesses make up more than 150 industries that are located in the near west suburbs. They are construction, manufacturing, retail, finance, medicine and technology, just to name a few. This diversity promotes a stable economy and hundreds of jobs to employees of all different skill sets.

Many programs are in place to help businesses thrive. The WSCCI offers press releases, e-blasts, sponsorships, advertising and business counseling to its members. Many of the Villages that make up the West Suburban Chamber also have their own Business Associations or local chamber of commerce. The Countryside Business Association (CBA), La Grange Business Association (LGBA), La Grange Park Chamber of Commerce and Western Springs Business Association (WSBA) each see to their own local issues and hold promotional activities and incentives for their respective business members.

Businesses looking to expand or put down roots in the Western Suburban area will find that there are several financial incentives in place. Both Hodgkins and McCook employ the Enterprise Zone Program which encourages economic growth through sales and utility tax exemptions, tax credits (investment tax credit; jobs tax credit; income tax deductions; interest deductions; contribution deductions) and business financing through the Illinois Development Finance Authority and the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs.

Business owners may also find other incentives at the local, county and state levels, and will benefit from the tax increment financing (TIF) redevelopment districts found in Countryside, Hodgkins and Willow Springs.e
