Avon Higher Education

Residents looking for a higher education degree need not drive longer than 20 minutes to reach the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis campus in downtown Indianapolis. The medical school programs shine there, although both universities offer complete degrees in a range of subjects. Likewise, the University of Indianapolis, Butler University, Marian College, Franklin College and ITT Technical Institute are all within driving distance – providing a number of liberal arts, teaching and technical/science degrees.

Young students wishing to live off campus at a state-sponsored institution can choose between Indiana University in Bloomington, Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana State University in Terre Haute or Ball State University in Muncie. Thanks to Avon’s central Indiana location, a host of private colleges are also feasible for many families.

Established as the Post-Secondary Education Task Force in 1998, Hendricks College Network (HCN) is an excellent resource for those seeking post-secondary educational possibilities in and around the Hendricks County area. HCN aids people in finding a variety of classes and degree programs that suits them. To contact HCN, visit www.hendrickscollegenetwork.org or call (317) 745-9265.
