Goshen is spotted with a number of City- and County-owned park sites. The City operates more than a dozen parks and offers approximately 17 miles of trails on the Maple City Greenway, the Mill Race Trail and the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail. Within Goshen, the County operates the multi-use Ox Bow Park and the system’s largest park, the 1,050-acre River Preserve. Both the City and the County provide a calendar year filled with exceptional environmental and historical education programs and plenty of exciting community events.

Goshen College’s Roman Gingerich Recreation-Fitness Center (RFC) is a modern multi-use facility featuring three full-size multi-purpose courts, four racquetball courts, a 200-meter running track, a pool and hot tub, an extensive fitness area and a 2,800-square-foot weight room. Outside, patrons can find lighted tennis courts, soccer fields and the college’s Eigsti Track and Field Complex. RFC also offers a listing of various adult fitness programs and children’s aquatics programs.

Those who enjoy various water sports often visit the Elkhart River, which winds through Goshen, as well as hundreds of area lakes—including the great Lake Michigan, an easy 90-mile drive from the community.

Additionally, golfers revel in the area’s well-maintained courses, including the Black Squirrel Golf Club (public), Maplecrest Country Club (private) and Bristol’s Elcona Country Club (private).
