There are ample opportunities for residents and visitors alike to enjoy a variety of entertainment and artistic choices in marvelous Monticello.

In June and October, Whyte Horse Winery hosts Art on the Vine Meets the Classics … an art and classic car event. With a tasting room set in a renovated 1886 farmhouse, Whyte Horse Winery is the result of vision and a passion for fine wines. Throughout the year, events at this award-winning winery draw people to this community gem.

During the summer tourism season, Indiana Beach’s Roof Lounge features the finest in live entertainment. Summertime cruises aboard the Madam Carroll on Lake Freeman also offer live entertainment, dancing and dinner, while viewing the scenic lakeshore.

Every Friday in the summer, local radio station WMRS/Sunny 107.7 FM hosts the TGIF Pool Party. From 10 a.m. to noon, downtown streets are packed with people listening to music and picking up Pool Party prizes!

In Monticello, discover secret gardens and bounty’s best at Monticello In Bloom’s Annual Garden Walk scheduled each June. As lovely as the gardens on display, area garden shops provide outstanding choices, and experts at each shop can help you create your own personal masterpiece.

Summer in downtown Monticello features a weekly Tuesday night Cruise-In event with classic cars, shopping and great food. The Spirit of Monticello Festival each June celebrates community spirit with a host of activities.

In July, downtown streets rock as the Monticello Business Alliance hosts the Main Street Tour/Taste of White. Thousands of visitors, residents, and class reunion groups pack the streets to enjoy live music and the tastes of White County’s finest restaurants.

The Monticello-Union Township Library is the cultural cornerstone for the community. In July, the library staff and Friends of the Library host the outstanding Broadway Art Show. Indiana artists exhibit original artwork with a wide selection of beautiful, hand-crafted art including jewelry, pottery, textiles, glass, wood, paintings, and more.

The library’s summer concert series is a great tradition featuring a variety of bands and musicians performing on the library lawn. In the winter, a murder mystery dinner theater features local actors. Annually, these events grow, providing great entertainment.

The Monticello-Union Township Library is a source of varied, enrichment experiences. It is committed to fostering a lifelong love of learning and an appreciation of the Arts.

The library’s Board of Trustees established an Endowment Plan to enhance services and provide long-term support of cultural activities to the growing population of Monticello.
