There are three school systems in the county, each offering classes K–12. Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation features preschool through 5th grade at William Tell Elementary school. The junior high school offers a range of mini-course exploratory subjects and computer literacy to grades 6–8.

The Tell City High School features three fully developed college-bound lanes and eight vocation tracts in addition to the normal education process.

The Perry Central Community School Corporation, serving rural Perry County, incorporates preschool through 12th grade under the same roof. The high school extends an opportunity to earn several college credits through Vincennes University.

The Cannelton City Schools house grades K–2 at St. Michael’s Elementary, grades 3–6 at Myers Elementary and combines junior and senior high in the same building.

Perry County features an Ivy Tech Community College in Tell City, and is within commuting distance of the University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana, ITT Technical Institute, Indiana Business College, I.U. Southeast, Oakland City University, Vincennes University – Jasper Campus, Kentucky Wesleyan, Owensboro Business College, Brescia College and U of K Community College.
