In 2006, the city of Petersburg completed construction of the new Kiefer Splash Park located at Hornady Park on State Road 56. The Splash Park consists of 16 individual features that provide the perfect setting for children, and the young of heart to cool off on a hot Hoosier summer day. Kiefer Splash Park is open throughout the summer, free of charge. It is ideal for birthday parties or family reunions, and many patrons rent the nearby shelter house. Future plans for the Splash Park include improved restroom facilities and a snack bar. For more information, or to rent a shelter house, contact Petersburg City Hall at 354-8511.
