Trails

T-Bone Trail
Starting a few miles north of Atlantic, this paved trail will take you all the way to Audubon – great for biking, running and walking. Start at the trailhead on Dunbar Road to travel north. Coming in 2015, T-Bone Trail will connect to Schildberg Quarry, near the heart of downtown Atlantic.

Schildberg Quarry
Located on Buck Creek Road, this old quarry is now a lake perfect for fishing or jogging around. The asphalt trail around the quarry is popular with joggers, families and our four-legged friends.

Bull Creek Pathway
This short path in residential Atlantic is located close to the middle school, and it runs parallel to Roosevelt Drive.

East Ridge Park
This newly developed park boasts lots of green space, a gazebo, and an asphalt walking path. Conveniently located on 22nd Street between Redwood and Highway 71.

Cass County Health System: Neighbors Caring for Neighbors

At Cass County Health System (CCHS), we bring together more than 350 individuals with one common goal – to provide the highest quality medical care possible in a compassionate, caring manner. We care for patients from all walks of life with medical needs ranging from minor aches and pains to life-threatening emergencies and everything in between. You are the reason we are here, and we are proud to provide outstanding medical care to our friends, family and neighbors in southwest Iowa.

CCHS brings together well-established, local health care providers to create one unified system that provides a superior experience for our patients, families and communities. CCHS affiliates include Cass County Memorial Hospital, Southwest Iowa Mental Health Center, Eye Associates, Southwest Iowa Surgery and Atlantic Medical Center, with primary care clinics in Atlantic, Anita, Griswold and Massena.

With the 2014 completion of a $25 million renovation and expansion, CCHS now boasts new and updated facilities including private inpatient rooms with family amenities, new state-of-the-art surgical suites, therapy pool and in-house MRI. As a critical access hospital, Cass County Memorial Hospital has 25 acute and swing beds and 4 distinct behavioral health beds. Other services provided at CCHS include:

• 24-hour Emergency Department
• Surgical Services
• Rehabilitation Services
• Cardiac Rehab
• Obstetrics
• Diagnostic Imaging
• Diabetes Education
• Respiratory Care
• Clinical Nutritional Counseling
• Laboratory: Pathology, EKGs
• Wound, Ostomy & Continence Care

The health system has an active medical staff of 13 board- certified physicians including seven family medicine doctors, one OB/GYN, an otolaryngologist, one psychiatrist, one podiatrist, one general surgeon and two emergency department physicians caring for patients in clinics, the hospital and the emergency room. Two optometrists provide vision care, and are supported by a visiting ophthalmologist and retinal specialist. Seven physician assistants and one nurse practitioner extend the medical services even further at Atlantic Medical Center and in the hospital emergency department.

Area residents are also served by monthly outpatient clinics with specialties including Allergy/Asthma, Cardiology, Dermatology, Gynecologic Oncology, Nephrology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Pulmonology, Urology, and Vascular Medicine. As our community needs change, we adapt our services and clinics to meet those needs. We work hard to provide our patients with the specialty care they need close to home.

At Cass County Health System, we believe in the values of respect, communication, accountability, and customer service. We take to heart our slogan, “Neighbors Caring for Neighbors.” We invite you to tour our facilities, meet our staff, and use our services.
