When it comes to healthcare, Charles City not only offers a wide range of health-related services, but is backed up by none other than the world-famous Mayo Clinic in nearby Rochester, Minnesota. Charles City is home to the 55-bed Floyd County Memorial Hospital, which is not only affiliated with Mayo and offers a number of local Mayo-staffed clinics, but also just recently completed a major expansion and modernization project to provide more outpatient services.
The hospital's partnership with the Mayo Clinic also provides for fast air care transfers to Rochester courtesy of the Mayo One helicopter, which can be here inside of 20 minutes. Another major medical facility, the North Iowa Mercy Medical Center, is only half an hour away. The Charles City Medical Clinic complex adjacent to Floyd County Memorial, houses a number of fine medical doctors and physician assistants, as well as one of Charles City's five pharmacies. Local physicians and surgeons are available in the areas of osteopathic, pediatric, medical, general surgical and orthopedic surgical care. Other health care specialists in town include audiologists, cataract and eye surgeons, chiropractors, dentists, massage therapists, oncologists, optometrists, oral surgeons, orthodontists, periodontists, physical therapists, occupational therapists and psychological counselors.
If that isn't enough, America's Hometown also offers community nursing, home health, hospice and mental retardation and developmentally disabled services. The community is served by four fine nursing homes, a pair of independent living complexes for seniors and an assisted living facility as well, demonstrating the commitment Charles City has for all of its residents, young and old. Whatever health service you may need, America's Hometown is ready for you!
