Staying Active

The North Scott area offers a variety of activities for all ages. Youth leagues are available in T-ball, baseball, softball, soccer and basketball. Adult softball/baseball leagues play in Eldridge. Tennis, anyone? The North Scott School district has 12 courts available for public use. Use the bike trail or visit one of the local fitness centers — staying active in North Scott is easy!

Scott County Park — at 1,280 acres — is just minutes away and is the largest park in Scott County. The park features picnic areas, an Olympic-size swimming pool, nature trails and camping and RV areas.

The area also has several golf courses. Glynns Creek Golf Course is a championship 18-hole course with tree-lined fairways on gently rolling terrain. Rustic Ridge Golf Course, a casual 9-hole course, emphasizes fun and quality greens.

Allen's Grove Park, on the Wapsipinicon River near Donahue

Buena Vista Public Use Area, on the Wapsipinicon River near Dixon

Cameron Timber Preserve, an undeveloped state forest preserve near Maysville

Lost Grove Lake, a 350 acre lake, is under construction with the dam scheduled to be built in 2005.

Princeton Boat Landing provides public access to the Mississippi River

Wapsi Environmental Education Center, northeast of Dixon, emphasizes resource protection and education
