Grinnell offers parks with walking paths, shelters, playground equipment, basketball courts, sand volleyball, softball and baseball diamonds, soccer fields, a driving range, tennis courts, Frisbee golf, and picnic areas and a bike trail, already nearly seven miles long, that continues to expand. In the summer enjoy the weekly concert series held at Grinnell’s Central Park gazebo. In the fall enjoy the local pumpkin farm and its various activities. In the spring enjoy a weekend with Kites over Grinnell.

Children stay active with dance classes, gymnastics, and seasonal team sports. Grinnell also has a bowling alley, a private nine-hole golf course and pool, and a public 18-hole golf course located five miles west of town. The Grinnell Mutual Aquatic Center, scheduled to open in 2010, features slides, zero-depth entry, lap lanes, and a lazy river and is sure to offer summertime fun to patrons of all ages.
