MARSHALLTOWN COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Marshalltown Community School District is committed to fostering growth and promoting student achievement at all levels. Educating more than 5,000 students in preschool through high school, MCSD offers a challenging and diverse curriculum that meets the needs of students at all ability levels.

The district includes six elementary schools (preschool-4), one intermediate school (5-6), one middle school (7-8), a high school (9-12) and an alternative high school (9-12).

School

Dedicated staff work hard to make sure students receive a quality education as well as the social and emotional learning support necessary to produce well-rounded citizens. Each building has a well-equipped media center brimming with extensive learning resources and staffed by talented, knowledgeable media specialists and teacher librarians.

The district’s dual language program offers students the opportunity to learn English and Spanish, cultivating dual literacy and allowing students to pursue a third language by the time they reach high school. A thriving talented and gifted program connects advanced students with many opportunities for individual growth. Strong music, fine arts, athletics and other extra-curricular programs offer something for every interest.

Marshalltown Area Catholic School
An accredited nonpublic educational facility serving families of all religious backgrounds, the Marshalltown Area Catholic School is a wonderful alternative to the public education route. Small class sizes, a secure and nurturing learning environment, exceptional educational and spiritual opportunities infused in all subject areas make up just some of the unique characteristics of MACS. The school is composed of two attendance centers—St. Henry’s, which houses childcare, preschool and grades K-2 and St. Mary’s for those enrolled in grades 3-6.

Marshalltown Christian School

Marshalltown Christian School
Opened in 2006, Marshalltown Christian School currently enrolls students in grades K-8, with seven total individuals making up the faculty and staff. The school’s small class sizes and Christ-centered curriculum have helped students to be ranked one to two grades above Iowa Basic Skills testing.

Iowa Valley Community College District
Iowa Valley Community College District operates Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Marshalltown Community College and Iowa Valley Continuing Education as well as a satellite campus in Grinnell.

Marshalltown Community College
More than 2,000 students are enrolled at MCC, which provides career-technical degree programs and the first two years of transferable college credit toward a bachelor’s or graduate degree. Courses are offered on campus and online, and the college serves approximately 22 percent of area high school graduates. MCC’s diverse student population includes dual-credit high school students, undergraduate students looking for immediate entry into the workforce and those beginning the path to graduate studies.

Iowa Valley Continuing Education
IVCE offers lifelong learning opportunities outside of the scope of college credit coursework. IVCE students can acquire new skills, earn professional certification and relic ensure, take part in job training, complete the GED and participate in an array of personal enrichment courses. Thousands of local workers enroll in customized training programs and approximately 12,000 students take advantage of the variety of outstanding community education courses.

Buena Vista University
Buena Vista University, an undergraduate institution based in Storm Lake, provides convenient access to higher learning opportunities through its Graduate & Professional Studies program. BVU operates a satellite center of this program on the MCC campus to meet the needs of nontraditional students in the Marshalltown area. In addition to offering 16 major degree programs and four education endorsements, BVU affords a wealth of online courses and programs for those needing that extra flexibility.
