Cross-country skiing is a popular activity in the winter and the park offers multiple use trails for hiking and snowmobiling. A nature trail is located on the north side of the park. Lake Wapello’s beach offers opportunities for swimming and sunbathing, and boat rentals are available at the concession area.
Ottumwa Park is a 365-acre recreation area in the center of the city that offers camping, fishing, tennis, volleyball, basketball courts, a baseball diamond, horseshoes, and bocce.
Ottumwa Country Club and Cedar Creek Golf Course have prime 18-hole golf courses, and miniature golf is available at 63 Super Putt.
