North Central Kansas

Positioned in North Central Kansas, Clay County residents enjoy the easy access to several major roadways, affording convenient travel in and out of the area. The region sits between two east-west arteries, Interstate 70 and Interstate 80, and is near a few north-south links including Interstate 135, U.S. 81, U.S. Highway 281 and State Highways 14 and 15. Additional highways near the county’s communities are U.S. Highways 24 and 36 and State Highways 9, 18 and 28.

The Clay Center Municipal Airport facility includes a 4,200-foot lighted runway with instrument approach serving general aviation and corporate aircraft. Full FBO services, including aircraft maintenance and inspection, flight instruction and fuel service, are available. Also located at the airport is the Clay Center Industrial Park #2.

Local interstate trucking terminals span the North Central Kansas region.
