Labette Community College is a two-year school that has served residents' continuing education needs since 1923. LCC averages an annual enrollment of 4,500 students ranging from 19-year-old high school graduates interested in university transfer courses to senior citizens looking to improve their understanding of everything from swimming to automotive repair. Since its founding, the college has awarded more than 8,000 associate degrees.
Credits earned at LCC transfer to many four-year schools. Areas of study include respiratory care, radiography, nursing, communications, graphic design, music, theater, business and industrial supervision, criminal justice, legal administration, medical administration, computer technology (which offers Microsoft certification) and music production. The facility also operates a learning center for GED counseling and testing, special needs support and Operation Excel tutoring workshops.
Outreach programs include a campus in Oswego.
