Residents and visitors find an exceptional collection of parks, as well as recreational programs in Lansing.

The Lansing Activity Center maintains a variety of uses for residents and visitors. The former high school facility houses a gymnasium, nine classrooms, an attached kitchen and dining area, offices, and the Lansing Community Library. In addition to being used for recreational activities, the facility is rented for activities, such as family gatherings, meetings, and tournaments or just for fun.

In February of 1998, the Lansing Community Library was established. It is conveniently located inside the Lansing Activity Center, 108 South Second Street, and offers a collection of over 21,000 volumes, half of which are children’s books. The library is open six days a week and is run by part-time staff and volunteers. Books can also be found on tape and videos may be checked out too. The library receives seven newspapers and over 100 different magazine subscriptions. Six computer workstations with Internet access are available for community use. The library also provides two spacious meeting areas.

Visitors can also enjoy outdoor recreational activities at one of Lansing’s four parks. City Park, located on North Second Street and American Avenue, has four lighted ball fields, one unlit field, a batting cage, a soccer practice field, a football practice area, and a playground. Additional features include a handicap accessible restroom, concession stand, and a one-half mile walking trail.

Willow Park is located on West Gilman Road at the entrance to Rock Creek West. This park has one full-sized soccer field, two under-six and two under-eight soccer fields, and a practice area. A playground and restrooms are also available. In addition to the four parks, Lansing also features the Leavenworth Country Club.

It is a private club providing golf, social, single, and full-family memberships. Golf enthusiasts may explore the private 18-hole course, as well as the gorgeous scenery, small ponds, and enjoyable weather. Leavenworth Country Club also provides an outdoor pool and a beautiful clubhouse with dining facilities for guests to enjoy.
