The City of Lansing offers support to businesses seeking to relocate or start up in "The City with a Future." Lansing is a great location for those individuals who are looking for an ideal place in which to live and raise families.

The City of Lansing, Leavenworth-Lansing Chamber of Commerce and Leavenworth Area Development Corporation (LAD) work together to attract new businesses to the area as well as advance the economic well being of existing businesses.

Established in 1981, LAD is a private non-profit corporation with a full-time professional staff, with the purpose of promoting and assisting the location of new and expanding business in Leavenworth County. LAD is the city’s and county’s economic development partner. The city offers various economic incentives for businesses wishing to locate in Lansing.

Employers with the largest number of employees include Lansing Correctional Facility, Aramark Uniforms, Larkin Excavating, Lansing Unified School District #469, Speedway Dodge and Citizens National Bank.

Lansing has two new industrial parks located on Gilman Road off Main Street (US 73/K-7) on the south side of the city. Lansing Business Center is a 29-lot industrial park. Larkin Industrial Park has 10 lots in its location. Another new business area in Lansing is the Lansing Towne Center. This development is a 34 acre commercially zoned area along Lansing’s Main Street.
