The newly expanded and remodeled facility includes a 17-bed emergency department; a 16-bed heart monitoring unit; an intensive care unit; comprehensive x-ray services, including MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, digital Fluoroscopy and digital mammography; respiratory therapy; and both inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital provides orthopedic, urological, bariatric and plastic surgery services in addition to other general surgeries. The hospital also operates a modern Ambulatory Surgery Center on its campus. St. Elizabeth Hospital’s all-private patient rooms are newly enlarged and remodeled.

A subsidiary of St. Elizabeth Hospital is St. Elizabeth Physicians, which serves the healthcare needs of the community with more than 60 highly qualified and credentialed physicians and nurse practitioners. The physicians of the practice represent Endocrinology, Family Practice, Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, General Surgery and Occupational Health. The practice has clinics in Gonzales, Donaldsonville, Prairieville, Gramercy and Dutchtown.

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, in partnership with St. Elizabeth Hospital, recently opened the door to superior cancer care in Ascension Parish. The treatment facility features state-of-the-art technology, including a high-energy linear accelerator utilizing advanced image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), imaging using positron emission tomography and computed tomography (PET/CT), and sophisticated treatment planning, as well as physics and dosimetry quality assurance instrumentation and software. St. James Behavioral Health Hospital is dedicated to providing intensive, short-term inpatient psychiatric treatment for adult and geriatric patient populations.
