The citizens of Lafayette Parish have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of physical activities such as cycling, running, horseback riding, golf, and as well as a large selection of fitness clubs and studios.

PARKS

Parc International
Located on the corner of Garfield and Polk Street in downtown. The largest of the three downtown parks, Parc International is gated, includes a stage, two backstage dressing rooms, two public restrooms, two water fountains, two pavilions and an equipment room.

Parc Sans Souci
Located downtown on 201 E. Vermillion St., it includes a gazebo, grassy areas, and a large fountain, which is a favorite among park goers. This park is used for concerts, races, weddings, and more.

Parc Putnam
Is the smallest of the three downtown parks and is located in front of the Federal Courthouse. The parc offers benches and beautiful landscaping.

Acadiana Park

Nestled in Lafayette’s center, 100 acres of undeveloped property is being transformed into a community recreational gem. The park, which was once a dairy and horse farm owned by the University, is currently being planned with community participation. It is referred to during the initial planning phase as The Park at the Horse Farm and the final name for the park will be made at a later date, and will be influenced by a variety of factors including public input, historical significance and donor participation.
