According to Raymond Aguillard, President of Century 21 DCG/Aguillard Realty, due to the slowed economy, 2009 saw a slight decline in reported sales in the MLS with a total of 261 properties. Of the total sales, 168 properties, or 64 percent, were below $150,000 in St. Landry Parish. Residential sales between $150,000 to $299,999 were around 33 percent, and the remaining 3 percent of the sales were at or above $300,000. While the closed sale numbers were down, the median sales price increased. The median sales price was $112,000 and the total dollar volume of residential sales was $31,846,628.
