Providing convenient and high quality educational opportunities at all levels is an important feature in Caroline County. Outstanding public and private schools, offering curriculum from pre-school through undergraduate studies, dot the landscape of the county—ensuring every resident has the opportunity to take advantage of first-class learning possibilities.


Approximately 5,650 students are enrolled within the 10 facilities that make up Caroline County Public Schools. Five elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools comprise the traditional facilities in the district. CCPS also operates the Caroline Career and Technology Center, a facility providing an extensive listing of post-secondary academic and technical courses for high school students. Programs of study include agribusiness, automotive technology, industrial technology, health, IMS, childcare, construction and design, cosmetology, culinary arts and horticulture.

Founded in 1965, Chesapeake College stands as one of the region’s leading community colleges. The higher learning institution offers more than 60 academic programs that lead to a two-year Associate’s degree, plus a number of one-year certificates and letters of recognition. In addition to the main college campus in Wye Mills, Chesapeake College operates campuses in Cambridge and Easton, along with a number of off-campus satellite locations in the Caroline County area.
