graphicBillerica has a wealth of natural treasures in conservation and recreational areas, which includes land owned by the town as well as federal and state land, generally available for public use, including:

Manning State Forest and Park
hiking trails, a small pond and day recreation facilities

Gilson Hill State Forest
camping and hiking

Jones Town Forest
trails for hiking and nature study

Shaloo Meadow State Forest
some passive recreation such as canoeing and fishing

Bignell Road Town Forest
dirt biking

Rangeway Road Town Forest
hiking trails and some passive recreation.

Marshall Orchard Conservation Land
some passive recreation, including natural trails

Nutting Lake Conservation Land
Micozzi Beach a volleyball court, and a small playground

4 small Little League fields, basketball court, and a playground

Hajjar Elementary School
softball field and small playground

Dutile Elementary School
Little League, soccer, lacrosse as well as a large playground

Ditson Elementary School
large playground and basketball court

Vining Elementary School
2 Little League fields, a playground and a basketball hoop

Parker Elementary School
football/soccer field and playground

Billerica Recreation Department (978-671-0921) provides programs for both children and adults, including golf lessons, canoeing, babysitting, dancing, karate, swimming, BMX racing, and more. It also hosts special trips to places like Nantucket, Tanglewood, Foxwoods, and Cape Cod Scallop Festival. It has recently introduced Education to Go, new instructor-led online courses. If you are a stay-at-home parent looking for quality activities, contact Moms & Tots (www.momsandtots.org). The group offers playgroups, daytrips, brunches, monthly meetings, holiday parties, and mom's nights out. Recently they adopted the Kid's Konnection Play-ground, behind O'Connor's Hardware, and did repairs, clean-up and installed new equipment.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Billerica, located on Campbell Road off Concord Road, is open to all residents of the Town, from boys and girls ages six and up as well as adults and seniors.
