graphicAllegan offers many parks to enjoy. JayCee Park consists of six scenic acres along the Kalamazoo River, near the center of the City of Allegan. Park amenities include a baseball field with lights for night play; fishing pier; picnic shelter, picnic tables and grills; basketball and volleyball courts; children's playground; public restrooms; walking path with exercise stations; and paths traveling through a local wetland preservation area. A portable ice skating rink is also set up during the winter months. Planned improvements include the restoration of the trestle bridge that crosses the Kalamazoo River, which will feature a pedestrian walkway linking the north side of the river to the park and downtown Allegan. JayCee Park will also offer a large playground.

Rossman Esplanade Park is at the intersection of Marshall and Fifth Street. The park's four land parcels totaling 2.5 acres- are situated on each of the four corners of the intersection. The northwest quadrant has a tennis court; the two west quadrants have picnic areas with tables; and the southeast features a pastoral grassy area with mature trees. Rossman Esplanade Park serves as a gateway to the downtown area welcoming visitors with a vivid display of flowers.

Sue Lange Memorial (Triangle) Park is located at the corner of Marshall and Bond Streets, is a triangular site of just under a half-acre. Developed as a formal garden, it features a beautiful fountain, sitting benches and antique lamps. It was dedicated to the memory of one of its founders, Sue Lange, in 1998.

Hanson Park, located behind the Griswold Auditorium, consists of 1.2 acres with a car-top boat launch facility, gazebo, shuffle board court, two children's playgrounds, and a series of attractive perennial gardens.

graphicRiverfront Park, in the central business district of Allegan, occupies over an acre of land running parallel to the shoreline of the Kalamazoo River. A Veterans Memorial stands at the corner of the park, which also features a wooden boardwalk meandering over the river connecting Hanson and Mahan Parks; a fishing pier, six exciting water fountains; antique lighting; and extensive landscaping.

Mahan Park forms the cast anchor of Riverfront Park. The nearly one acre site features a stage gazebo with grass amphitheater-style seating. The park is handicap accessible. The upper section of the park is dedicated to the park's founders, with a flag and memorial display area. Mahan Park is the site for many community celebrations and events including Bridgefest, the Rotary Summer Concert Series, the fall children's festival, Easter celebration and the Christmas Gingerbread Village.

The Wellness and Sports Complex is a 64 acre site surrounded by a natural forest. This comprehensive complex includes four soccer fields, four Little League baseball fields, two softball fields, a football field, a one-mile paved walking trail, skate park, concessions/restroom facilities and parking for 650 vehicles. Future plans include a picnic area and an additional paved nature trail to connect the complex with downtown Allegan.
