Expanding Cultural Horizons
Each community that makes up the market area of the Sterling Heights Area Chamber of Commerce offers residents a wide range of cultural and entertainment experiences that includes music venues, theatre and sporting events. Three major community events are Utica’s “Taste of the Community,” Shelby’s Arts & Crafts Fair and Sterling Heights’ summer “Sterlingfest.”
The Chamber of Commerce supports all of the communities’ events and is an active participant in Sterlingfest by operating the “Suds and Sounds” beverage tent and helping to bring in the festival’s carnival. Additional family fun is provided by the Chamber’s annual supported carnivals.
Other entertainment venues in the area are Freedom Hill Music Amphitheater in Sterling Heights, the Macomb Community College for the Performing Arts in nearby Clinton Township, Dave & Buster’s, Joe Dumar’s Fieldhouse in Utica and the Emerald Theater in Mt. Clemens. The area also features two major multiplex movie theaters including the new MJR Theater in Sterling Heights.
The residents of the Sterling Heights Area Chamber of Commerce market area are also within a short drive to southeast Michigan’s major entertainment locations and casinos.
