Health Care

The simple fact that Lakeland Regional Health System is the largest service employer in the community is testimony to the degree of importance we put on good health care. There is comfort and reassurance that all the bases are covered when you scan the list of services available. Lakeland Medical Centers offer a total of 445 acute care and 310 long-term care beds. Recent completion of a 12,700 square foot Heart Center and Cancer Center, dedicated to helping patients through trying times, brings a 5 million dollar project to fruition. The Lakeland System provides oncology, cardiology and cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, rehabilitation services, emergency care, behavioral medicine, invasive and non-invasive radiology and laboratory services, sports medicine and more. There are two centers for cancer diagnosis and treatment, a corporate safety and wellness center, a dialysis center, three centers dedicated to drug dependency recovery, a hearing and speech center, two heart disease diagnosis and treatment centers, and multiple long-term care nursing facilities as well. Lakeland operates several centers dedicated to birthing and women’s health, family medical care, rehabilitation and more.

Community Hospital in Watervliet is a full service medical community with wide ranging programs and facilities, 24-hour care including emergency care and a walk-in clinic. The Cedarwood Medical Center provides outstanding outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic medical services, and other providers such as Health Care at Home and Hospice at Home expand our communities’ health care blanket substantially.
