The City of Chanhassen is fortunate to have a number of quality education options. The northern third of the community is served by Minnetonka School District 276. With nearly 8,000 students being served at six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school, District 276 prides itself on providing excellence in the classroom as well in extracurricular activities. Minnetonka Community Educational Services provides lifelong learning to all residents in District 276. District 276 students consistently rank high in classroom and extracurricular measures. Voters recently approved a $2.7 million referendum to support the ongoing activities of the district, as well as a $2.9 million 10-year annual technology levy that will ensure that the schools remain on the cutting edge of technology.
The southern portion of Chanhassen is served by Independent School District 112. District 112 is a rapidly growing school system currently serving approximately 7,800 students.
The district includes an early childhood center, six elementary schools, two middle schools, a 9th grade center, and a high school. Chaska High School is a Class AA high school in the Lake Conference. It offers competitive programs for students bound for college, vocational schools, or the job market. Advanced placement courses are also offered.
Chanhassen is also fortunate to have several private school options for its residents. Chapel Hill Academy was founded in 1970 as a parent-run, biblically-based academic institution. A K-8 interdenominational school, Chapel Hill Academy recently underwent a major expansion to accommodate its growing enrollment and its extracurricular activities.
St. Hubert School is an educational system serving grades K-8. Also undergoing recent expansions, it has been a part of the St. Huberts Catholic parish since 1881 and has a long and proud tradition of academic excellence.
Several daycare facilities are located within Chanhassen. Offering a wide variety of provider options, some childcare centers have accredited kindergarten education programs. Franchised, independently owned and operated, and religious based centers are available.
