Independent School District 112 is a rapidly growing system currently serving more than 7,000 students in the Chaska area. The district includes an Early Childhood Education Center, five elementary schools, two middle schools, and a high school. The elementary schools emphasize basic skills. Students and teachers work with newly strengthened curriculum in math, reading, language arts and science. Each school has specialists working in the areas of special education, art, music and physical education.

The middle schools balance continued emphasis on basic skills with exploration of new interests. Students meet daily in small groups with an advisor and each student is part of a "family" of teachers and students for core subjects. Club Mid provides after school activities for grades 6-9. Chaska High School is a Class AA high school in the Lake Conference. It offers comprehensive programs for students bound for college, vocational schools or the job market. The 2000 Quiz Bowl team took the state championship and finished third in national competition. The 2000 Science Bowl team also took state championship honors. In addition, residents have several locally operated private and parochial schools to choose from. Post-secondary education is offered at nearby schools such as University St. Thomas, Crown College, Hennipin Technical College, Normandale Community College, and the University of Minnesota, to name a few.
