Richfield Farmers' Markets
Since 1990, the Richfield Farmers' Market has been a destination for shoppers looking for fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables, garden plants, musical performances, family art activities and a gathering place where residents can connect with others in the community. The Market has two days and locations: the main Saturday market, held from May to October at Veterans Park and the Wednesday market, held from June through August at Lyndale Gardens.

Richfield Chamber of Commerce Salute to Small Business Luncheon
Each year the Richfield Chamber of Commerce hosts a recognition event called “Salute to Small Business.” Chamber members nominate fellow members for the Small Business Hall of Fame and recipients are recognized at the Chamber’s Salute to Small Business event. A listing of all the Small Business Hall of Fame recipients can be found on page 18 of this magazine.

Annual Fourth of July Celebration

Annual Fourth of July Celebration
Since 1980, the Richfield 4th of July Committee has advanced and promoted the observance of Independence Day in the City of Richfield. Their objective is to provide a celebration which can allow for patriotic expression, family participation, amusement, community cohesiveness and homecoming. Richfield's 4th of July celebration is a community and family focused event that offers something for everyone. Veteran's Park is the host site for most of the events which include family fun night, a parade, music, a street dance, fireworks and a car show. Open Streets at Penn Fest

Open Streets at Penn Fest
Since 2007, the Penn Central neighborhood group has hosted Richfield's Penn Fest, which is an “Open Streets” event held on a Saturday afternoon in the fall. It is a chance for businesses and people who live in the Penn Central neighborhood to interact, which creates a sense of community and neighborhood identity.

During Penn Fest, Penn Avenue is closed from 63rd to 76th Streets courtesy of an Open Streets grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. In addition to the music, free food and store sales that have always been part of the celebration, the grant allows Penn Fest to include an emphasis on health by including a 5K run, a mini-farmers' market and fitness classes.
