About the Chamber

Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce

In 1866, the Rochester Board of Trade (changed to the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce in 1968) was established with a mission to lead, inform, advocate and advance business interests for its members, and to promote a healthy community and a growing economy.

Our success as a Chamber is directly related to the success of our members, which is why we are committed to creating a climate where the business community can develop, grow and prosper. We continue to do this through three pillars: workforce and education, advocacy and membership development.

If we are going to compete successfully and win in a world-wide economy, we will need a well-educated and well-trained workforce, and your Chamber is committed to leading by supporting many initiatives to ensure a competitive workforce now and in the future. While we continue to offer superior networking and marketing opportunities for our members, and to provide high quality legislative advocacy on behalf of the business community, we have increasingly intensified our workforce and education efforts to ensure we are a globally competitive community moving forward.

Together, we will build a community that we will be proud of for years to come, ensuring that we are not only known as the world’s premier destination medical center, and a community that is renowned for hope, health and hospitality, but also a community that is committed to being a great business destination center that will generate the resources necessary to fuel our continued growth.
