graphicWillmar Public Schools support the educational needs of nearly 4,800 students – small enough to provide individual attention and custom-designed classwork, large enough to support diverse activities ranging from vocational training to college prep courses.

Willmar houses its students in five elementary schools (K-6), one junior high (7-8), one senior high school (9-12), and one Christian school (K-8). The high school building is brand new, as is Roosevelt Elementary School. Other elementaries recently enjoyed extensive remodeling to offer up-to-date classroom atmospheres.

graphic"Tech prep" is the new buzzword heard through these halls – it means teaching application as well as knowledge, a goal designed to support future business needs among this future workforce. Educators have also established early childhood intervention programs to ensure children have an opportunity for the best start in this educational process.

Parents may also choose from several private school routes. Other Willmar educational institutions include the Adult Basic Education center, Bridgeway Learning Center and Career Assessment.
