Magnolia Regional Health Center, on Alcorn Drive in Corinth, is a fully-accredited, 164-bed acute care hospital. The hospital houses a medical staff of 56 active staff/emergency physicians and 73 courtesy consulting physicians practicing 26 medical specialties. The 147,000 sq. ft. expansion set to open in 2007 will offer all private rooms.

Medical specialties practiced at Magnolia include anesthesiology, cardiology, emergency medicine, family practice, gastroenterology, general surgery, internal medicine, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, occupational medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, oral/maxillofacial surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pathology, pediatrics, psychiatry, pulmonology, radiology, rehabilitation, urology and open heart and vascular surgery. By the end of 2007, Magnolia Regional Health Center will open the Magnolia Regional Heart & Vascular Center, which will perform open heart surgeries.

Magnolia’s proactive physician recruitment program has added 42 physicians since 2005. Magnolia is the first hospital in North Mississippi to provide diagnostic ultrasound training to emergency physicians to help in rapidly diagnosing patients experiencing emergent complaints. Magnolia also added a 64-Slice CT Scanner in 2006, which allows our doctors and radiologists to quickly view, in extraordinarily fine detail, your heart and associated vascular system and other vital organs. This information helps doctors diagnose a wide variety of conditions earlier and faster than ever before, including your risk for heart and coronary artery disease, as well as other diseases or abnormalities.

Approximately 200,000 patients are seen annually at Magnolia through the inpatient, outpatient, or emergency service areas. Founded in 1965 and jointly owned by the City of Corinth and Alcorn County, the facility is certified for Medicare participation by the Department of Health and Human Services. Magnolia is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health. The facility is a member of The Alliance and the Mississippi Hospital Association, and is the largest employers in Alcorn County with over 1,250 full-time and part-time employees. The health care facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to serve patients from Northeast Mississippi and Western Tennessee.


The medical center operates an acute psychiatric inpatient clinic, radiation oncology center, outpatient rehabilitation center—which includes aquatic therapy and sports medicine cardiac rehabilitation center, modern surgical suites, and a surgery center. Magnolia has two rural health clinics, an imaging center with a large bore MRI, a community service complex, corporate health and safety services serving local industries, medical library services with consumer health library, a fully staffed and equipped emergency services department, and a nationally registered advanced life support ambulance service. Magnolia’s women’s center has in-room labor, delivery, recovery, and post-partum care in addition to a state-of-the-art labor and delivery suite. The medical center has a diabetes education center, an extended rehabilitation unit, an accredited medical and legal clinical laboratory, and 24-hour nursing service provided by a team of professional registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants.

Magnolia operates Magnolia Regional Home Health and Hospice, which provides non-emergency medical transport services, a full-service respiratory services department, and polysomnography “sleep study.” Magnolia Regional Health Center began a medical student program in 2006 and plans to add a residency program in 2008.
