Carthage is filled with a wealth of shopping endeavors, ranging from beautiful antiques and collectibles to delicious produce from the local Farmer’s Market.

A variety of specialized shopping venues including clothing, accessories, food and other supplies can be found throughout the city including clusters of stores along Grand Avenue, Oak Street, Garrison Avenue and Highway 96/ Central Avenue.

The Carthage Farmer’s Market is held every Wednesday and Saturday on the Historic Carthage Square beginning at sunrise. A variety of local producers set up stands to sell fresh produce, home-baked goods, flowers and more.


South of town, two shopping centers provide residents and visitors with a multi-store shopping venue. The Village Shopping Center and Sandor Development Plaza both feature local business ventures as well as national chain stores.
