Parks and Recreation

Opportunities for indoor and outdoor recreation are abundant in Chesterfield. Three indoor ice rinks at the Hardees Ice Plex, the Family Aquatic Center in Central Park, the local YMCA, the Jewish Community Center, plus several fitness clubs and indoor recreation centers all offer an assortment of amenities and programs to keep individuals active year-round.

The 176-acre Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex is a source of community pride, and consists of 15 baseball/softball fields, nine baseball practice fields, nine soccer fields, five football practice fields, two football game fields, two multi-purpose fields and two playground areas. These fields are utilized by a variety of youth and adult leagues, as well as tournament play, campus and clinics. In recent years, the city joined forces with St. Louis Cardinals’ stars Albert Pujols and former three-time Golden Glove catcher Mike Matheny to construct the “Miracle Field” at the complex. The field is designed and constructed to enable children of all abilities to experience the thrill of playing baseball.

The Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center in Central Park includes competitive and leisure pools with slides, play structures, a wading pool and a lazy river area. It is located at Lydia Hill Dr. and Chesterfield Parkway.

The city, in partnership with the Great Rivers Greenway District, is of constructing a 17-mile Levee Trail that will connect atop the Levee around the Chesterfield Valley. Completed areas are between the Hardee’s Iceplex and the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Fields and from Long Road to Baxter Road along Edison Avenue. Trailheads are at both locations. The next phase will connect under the Boone Bridge to Howell Island Conservation Area.
