Arts and Culture

This well-rounded city boasts of a culture that is rich and active, offering a variety of live theatrical productions through the Chesterfield Community Theatre, STAGES St. Louis and several art galleries, notably the Art Gallery of Hog Hollow, the Gallery at Chesterfield Arts, Art Trends Gallery, Fine Art Ltd. and Wiegand Studios (by appointment only).

A consortium of artists at Chesterfield Mall, known as Artropolis, has been very successful and continues to grow. Public art is widely seen throughout Chesterfield, with a number of businesses featuring high-profile sculptures both outside and inside their buildings. Most notable is “The Awakening” sculpture by J. Seward Johnson.

The gentle giant, located adjacent to Central Park, appears to be waking up from the ground after a long slumber, to the delight of children young and old. Additionally, the art of vintage automobile restoration can be viewed at the Kemp Auto Museum.

Thanks to the support of local humanities organizations and its civic-minded residents, the arts in Chesterfield are well supported and promoted.
